Details about the movie on IMDb

I have to admit, that movie with Reese Witherspoon gets automatically one point more just because I like her. It might not be objective, it might not be fair, but it’s just the way I have it.

The story is about a girl Melanie Smooter (Reese Withersoon), who is a fashion designer living in New York. When she is proposed by her boyfriend Andrew Hennings (Patrick Dempsey), she needs to go back to her hometown in Alabama to make her actual husband Jake Perry (Josh Lucas), who none in New York knows about, to sign the divorce papers. After 7 years of separation. When she arrives, they have a big argument with Josh, because he doesn’t want to sign the papers and so makes Melanie to stay in her hometown for few days to persuade him. In the following few days she meets not only her parents, but also many friends or school classmates and starts to realize that life in the small village is quite good. She also starts to see her husband from a different perspective, however, they come to a point, when he finally signs the papers and the wedding can be organized. At the wedding day, Melanie finds out that actually she is the one who didn’t sign the papers and decides that she actually doesn’t even want to divorce Jack and marry Andrew.

This is a classical romantic love story movie, very easy to watch, very relaxing and just the perfect movie for a lonely night with glass of wine.

The rating of this movie is 6/10
